The CureX Corporation has established a board of experts to lead our efforts! Experts in Public Health, Epidemiology with a specialization in Biological Terrorism. The focus of this study was to identify and analyze the obstacles to bioterrorism preparedness and response facing emergency management agencies and public authorities. In order to establish the limits of this discussion, the obstacles will examine a combined conceptual framework of public health, environmental security and social response. The interdisciplinary characteristics of this framework are ideal for addressing the issue of bioterrorism because of its simultaneous impact, which encompasses the complex interrelationships that pertain to public health and national security and social response. Based on a review of literature, the obstacles presented range from the absence of an effective surveillance system for biological terrorism related diseases to the inadequate training of first responders in bioterrorism preparedness and the difficult challenges of a mass casualty situation and the intense pressures associated with the crisis response. Furthermore, the impending reality of bioterrorism will further illustrate a close examination of the characteristics and management of three major biowarfare agents---anthrax, plague and smallpox. Finally, to provide a realistic understanding of the impact of bioterrorism, three case studies of actual events and two hypothetical scenarios will be discussed. Specifically, the discussion will provide the following three unconventional terrorist attacks: the recent anthrax attacks of 2001, the Aum Shinrikyo's attack of the Tokyo subway in 1995, and the Rajneeshees' use of salmonella poisoning in 1994. The inclusion of the hypothetical scenarios of two massive outbreaks of smallpox and anthrax will be presented to illuminate the seriousness and magnitude of the threat of bioterrorism and the probable consequences of failing to overcome the obstacles presented in this study. The importance of this research cannot be overemphasized, the threat is undeniably serious, and the potential for biological agents to cause devastating casualties can be minimized with the fighting strength of education.

Goal: To partner with local specialty care Practitioners to provide Whole Health/Integrative Medicine services for veterans, where these services are deemed medically necessary by a qualified, licensed medical practitioner. With these hygienic and preventative maintenance care services locally accessible to veterans in a relaxing, spa-like environment, the opportunity to increase patient compliance may lead to an overall improvement in veteran whole health and a reduction in painful, debilitating and costly lower limb complications (such as chronic pain, infection and amputation).

Specific Aims: To provide medically necessary routine Whole Health/Integrative Medicine services in existing spa-like environments to improve patient compliance and whole health while reducing complications attributed to improper or neglected hand and foot grooming and hygiene. Specific aims include:

To provide medically necessary Whole Health/Integrative Medicine services and patient education to improve patient wellbeing and reduce complications.
To find and manage hand and foot service providers, Whole Health/Integrative Medicine Practitioners to include verifying compliance with license, insurance and certification requirements, safety and hygiene standards and reporting requirements.
To streamline service provider participation providing care to veterans.
Provide the aforementioned services at a reduced financial cost VHA, while freeing up VA Medical Center resources for more complex medical care procedures.
To provide such service on a small scale (initially at one location) with measures in place, as a proof of concept and risk reduction study.
To engage existing and emerging local service providers in veteran health care, namely Hammer and Nails, in Owings Mills, Maryland.

When local, existing qualified Whole Health/Integrative Medicine Practitioners, nurses, and hand and foot care providers can easily join in the care of veterans in a spa-like or local barbershop environment, patient compliance, wellness and health is likely to improve, while driving down cost of care, when compared to providing the same service in a VA Medical Center. Patients will improve relationships in their local communities, while receiving care and practicing self-care. We look forward to seeing you on December 16th, 2018 @ 5-7pm.

During the week of August 5 - August 10, 2018, I had the privilege of leading our Joe and Jan Veteran Leadership Development Institute at East Bay Camp in Hudson, Illinois. Attendees and leadership counselors followed my lead as we journeyed into the wilderness of adventure, self-discovery, and true belonging. This will go down in the history books as a pivotal moment in the lives of all in attendance.

Our Joe and Jan Veteran "Be Un-Stoppable" curriculum is a 4-chapter brain altering workbook that gives rise to our many primal instincts and fears, which in turn induces vulnerability, maybe some tears, and personal fears as we peeled back the Band-Aid of real-life ISSUES. Our youth took courage and decided to face their real-life ISSUES together and head-on. Our redemption came the way of writing down and burning our greatest shame and fears in a fire pit and through the verbal releasing of our souls from the what was, as we deeply denounced all distractions and verbally expressed what mattered most! Students and leadership counselors alike learned the importance of setting their own expectations (early) and not rely on others to set expectations for them. Our time was spent challenging and stretching each individual to reach his/her greatest capacity and expression of self (without fitting in) while fully occupying his/her purpose on earth. There was not a dry eye in the building after it was all said and done.

Maya Angelou said it best: "You only are free when you realize you belong no place — you belong every place — no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great." In short, to become who we really are is going cost us everything; therefore, we charge our youth to fix their eyes and attention on rebuilding their own constitution. We denounced all factions and subgroups and focused on the one "group" that matters… the "Human Group". We experienced PEOPLE not devices, as we all spiraled to deeper levels of self and community. We released ourselves from life-altering fears and the shame of our pasts. We gave ourselves permission to no longer be stagnate and fixated on possessions but rather on SELF-EMPOWERMENT!

The Joe and Jan Veteran Institute provides youth and professional groups with intensive opportunities for physical, mental, spiritual, and relationship growth and deepening their community roots by sharing common space and programs for the purpose of personal transformation. Youth participated in a week of whole health and wellness specific and inter-character development. The components of the program are designed to bring restoration with self, country, family, community, and spirit. The program's design will increase tolerance and respect among youth and professional groups of various backgrounds.

Lastly, this method of leadership development is scalable, with a systems ontology designed to accommodate participants as they come, go, and change.
